Scope of this policy
This policy covers Laitlum.com and enquiries sent to [email protected]. It does not cover websites or services operated by third parties, even when we link to them. The current website has no visitor accounts, booking forms, payment facility, newsletter signup or visitor database. We do not ask for your precise location to display the Laitlum forecast. These limits describe the current website, not a promise that browsing generates no technical information.
Information from normal website visits
To deliver a page, the hosting and network services involved in your visit receive connection information. This may include your IP address, requested URL, request time, browser or device information, referring page and technical error details. Such information may be processed for delivery, security, abuse prevention and troubleshooting. The website does not currently include a separate advertising, audience-analytics or behavioural-profiling tracker.
Budget calculator and itinerary selections
Amounts you enter in the budget calculator and the itinerary you select are held in the current page's memory. These inputs are not sent to a website database and normally reset when the page is refreshed or closed. The itinerary download is generated in your browser and saved to your device when you choose to download it. You control that downloaded file and any copies you share.
Email enquiries
If you email the website, your email address, message, any name you provide and attachments are processed by the receiving email service. Use of this correspondence is limited to understanding and responding to the enquiry, assessing corrections or rights requests, resolving issues and retaining records where reasonably necessary or legally required. Please share only relevant information. Do not send passwords, payment details, identity documents or sensitive personal records. We do not use website enquiries to enrol you in a marketing list.
Weather information
Weather requests go through the website's server to Open-Meteo using a configured location near Laitlum. The website does not forward your budget entries, email correspondence or device geolocation in that forecast request. Open-Meteo receives the server's request and associated connection information. Forecast results are cached to reduce repeated provider requests; this cache stores weather data rather than a visitor profile. Open-Meteo's own policy applies if you follow its attribution link.
Google Maps and other external links
The embedded Google Map is requested only after you choose Load Google Map. Loading it establishes a connection to Google, which may receive your IP address, browser information and other request data and may use cookies or similar technologies under its own policy. Opening a Google Maps directions link or another external link also takes you to a separately operated service. You can browse the written route guidance without loading the embedded map. Review the third party's policies before using its services or submitting information.
Cookies and browser storage
The current site's application code does not set first-party tracking cookies or use local storage to retain your trip inputs. Fonts and the site's gallery images are served from the website rather than an external font service. Third-party services you choose to load, and hosting or security infrastructure, may have their own storage or cookie behaviour. You can manage cookies through your browser settings; restricting third-party cookies may affect an embedded service.
Sharing, retention and security
We do not sell enquiry information or use it for targeted advertising. Hosting, security and email providers may process information as needed to operate their services, potentially in countries outside your own. Information may also need to be disclosed to comply with applicable law or address abuse or a rights complaint. Correspondence should be retained only as long as reasonably needed for its purpose and applicable obligations; technical-log and provider retention depend on the services involved. There is no single verified retention period for all providers. No website or email system can guarantee absolute security.
Your privacy choices and requests
You can avoid loading external maps, choose not to email personal information and manage browser storage yourself. To ask about, correct or request deletion of information in website correspondence, email [email protected] with sufficient context to identify it. Depending on applicable law, additional privacy rights may be available. A request may require proportionate identity verification, and some records may need to be retained for legal or security reasons. Do not send identity documents unless a specific, necessary verification process has been agreed.
Children and policy updates
This is a general travel-information website, not a service designed to collect children's personal information. A parent or guardian who believes a child has sent personal information can contact us to request review and appropriate removal. This policy should be updated when the site's data handling, providers or features materially change. The review date above identifies this version; please revisit it when using a newly introduced service.
